DESCRIPTION:Who is this course for? \nThe Willow Centre is delighted to offer this new Train the Trainer workshop which is suitable for experienced trainers/ senior staff in a training role employed by their Care and Health organisations. \nThis one day workshop will equip the ‘In-House Trainer’ to deliver high quality MCA and DoLS training to your staff at awareness level. \nThe workshop has been specifically written and will be delivered by an experienced and highly knowledgeable trainer. \nWorking knowledge of both the MCA and DoLS legisation is of paramount importance to upholding the good standards of care expected from those in the care industry.  This course not only covers these topics in depth\, but also equips delegates with a range of instructor skills so your organisation will benefit from having a dedicated ‘In-House’ MCA & DoLS trainer. \nDelegates will work through a range of activities\, group discussions and case studies\, our highly knowledgeable trainer will take your delegates through MCA and DoLS materials whilst offering additional information and advice needed to successfully deliver the awareness level course. \nPre-Requirements to attend this course: \nDelegates must provide evidence of the following: \n\nPrior attendance MCA & DoLS Course at Awareness Level and Intermediate levels\nPTLLS or equivalent training\n\nWhat is Covered? \nThe following topics will be covered during the workshop: \n\nCurrent and future legislation (proposal for the new DoLS – Liberty Protection Safeguards)\nMCA & DoLS assessment process\nWhat is meant by best interests and balance sheet approach\nWhat protection is available for decision makers\nUnder the limits of restraint issues\nUnderstand the roles of various people involved\nList the functions of the Mental Capacity Act\nDescribe the groups that will be affected by the legislation\nExplain what is meant by the ‘functional test’\nExplain the role of Lasting Power of Attorneys\nDescribe the function of the Court of Protection\nExplain the Depreciation of Liberty Safeguards\nTrain others in Mental Capacity Act and DoLS requirements within their working environment\n\nN.B:  As the legislation changes the content of the workshop will change to reflect legal changes. \nTraining delivery skills will be tested in this workshop to ensure that the delegates can deliver MCA DoLS training to a basic awareness level. \nPLEASE NOTE:   This is a NON ACCREDITED workshop – A certificate of attendance will be issued upon completion of the course. \nHow much will this course cost? \nThis 1 day course will cost £150 plus VAT

DESCRIPTION:Who is this course for? \nThis course is suitable for persons who are working in a ‘front line’ capacity and dealing with people who need aids/equipment to assist them in their daily living. \nThis One Day course will give you  awareness \, knowledge and  competency in the ordering processes of daily living equipment. We are working in partnership with Essex County Council who will issue the PIN (where appropriate) and Login details upon completion of this course.* \nThe course will cover the following: \n\nTo provide Information\, Guidance and Permission (where applicable) to access and order a specific range of equipment identified during the assessment or review process as necessary to meet identified\, eligible needs.\nTo ensure you are competent when assessing for equipment.\nTo inform you of the process of ordering equipment via Essex County Council’s Uniqus portal.\n\nThis course is certificated based on competency in the ordering of specific equipment and will include the issuing of Login & PIN details for delegates upon completion (where applicable). \n*Please Note: This course is suitable for Health & Social Care staff who are wishing to provide social care equipment to those who have long term disabling impairments (with no significant recovery or improvement) using an ECC Uniqus PIN.  \nThis course is NOT SUITABLE for health staff who would like a  PIN to order Health Equipment.
