DESCRIPTION:Who is it for? \nDo you look after a family member or a friend living with dementia? Perhaps you volunteer or support someone living in the community. Our Dementia Care Education Day is designed for families\, carers\, volunteers\, wardens anyone that feels they would like to have more knowledge and practical tips to help people living with dementia. This Day is for you if: \n\nyou would like to gain a better understanding of your friend or family member living with dementia and how to support them\nyou would like to learn about the different types of dementia and how they can affect the brain as the dementia progresses\nyou would like to learn about strategies that may help when different behaviours come into play\nyou would like to be able to ask questions in a safe\, supportive environment\nyou would like to meet other people who are taking care of a friend or family member with dementia in a similar situation to be able to chat about their experiences\n\nCourse Aims and Objectives\nThis 3 hour (half day) course will give people a real insight into what it feels like to live with dementia; an understanding of effects on daily life and the importance of adapting how we communicating to meeting the needs of the person with Dementia. \nThis course is for everyone from people who have a friend/relative who has Dementia to health professionals who would like to know more about this condition. \n  \nCourse Sessions \nThursday 26th November – AM session – 09:30 – 12:30 and PM session – 13:30 – 16:30 \n  \nCourse Cost \nThe cost is £35 plus Vat \nCertification of attendance is issued together with handouts upon completion.
